Melville Waterfall
Week Thirty-Three
I can honestly say that I had never, ever, been here before. This 130 acre park is located off West Main Rd. on the western side and it’s entrance is shared with Melville elementary school. There are campgrounds on this property as well. Being a Tuesday afternoon in April, there were hardly any people around so I just kept driving around until I saw a sign for hiking and fishing. I followed and it led me to a makeshift parking lot at a trail head. On this property there are two ponds stocked with trout and native fresh water bass. There are several miles of trail as well that lead from West Main Rd. down all the way to the railroad tracks (do we remember week one???) on the backside of the Melville Marina. I had a good two mile hike today and can’t wait to scoop up some puppies and mud up them paws!
You discovered a tranquil setting. Very nice.
